Desire: Undertow
An image from a set of illustrations commissioned for a poetry book about desire.
Inspiration:
As I was reading through this collection of poetry, a number of poems hinted at the idea of desire linked with temptation, and being drawn into new and mysterious places (and perhaps drawing others there, too).
Method:
The swirling water was created by combining digital marks in Photoshop with textures from handmade marbled paper. The figures and the rest of the scene were created digitally.
